The Golden Backpack Awards are the only dedicated awards for the independent travel sector rewarding those companies who work hardest to make backpacking around Australia and New Zealand that extra bit special.

More than 30 companies are recognized for their outstanding customer service in both state and national categories. The awards are consumer voted following a national campaign in TNT Magazine and online, with the voting process monitored by an independent panel of judges.

The winners will be announced at the Gala dinner on November 4 2010. This year the event is being held at the prestigious Star City Ballroom in Pyrmont, Sydney.
